Marianne Weinberg-Benson is a traditionally trained potter.  Having studied with Charles Counts and Tom Turner her background allowed her to create large vessels and sculptures in the difficult media of porcelain.  As a storyteller at heart she works from themes and ideas based on her phylosophies of life and her own history.  The finishes of these high fired pieces are glazed, sandblasted and drawn on with pastels. This technique allows her a directness in the drawing as well as a spontinaity and fuller range of color.
